We are a family of three; myself, my husband and our 8-year-old son.  This year, we will be taking on the adventure of a lifetime and spending this year traveling around the world together.

The decision to take on this adventure did not come lightly or without much planning.  Since the time that we were married, nearly 10 years ago, we have always wanted to travel.  Our son is now old enough to enjoy the experience while still being young enough that homeschooling will work well for us while we are on the road.

When Hayden was 4 years old, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was subsequently removed.  From that time, we decided that we wanted to ensure that we spend as much time together as a family and that we live everyday to the fullest.  Then, a few weeks ago (early Jan 2015), it was determined that his tumor had grown back to the point that the Neurosurgeon/Oncologist felt that the tumor needed to be removed again.  Following another successful surgery, we decided that this is the year that we truly take this crazy leap together!
